Mark Briody – Chartered Physiotherapist

Mark is a highly experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist who trained in London, graduating with a First-Class Honours Degree in Physiotherapy. He further advanced his clinical expertise by completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Sonography from Brunel University London, enhancing his diagnostic and assessment capabilities in complex MSK presentations.

Mark has extensive senior-level experience across both the NHS and private practice settings in London, before continuing his career in private practice in Sydney, Australia. This diverse background has equipped him with broad clinical expertise in managing a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Through his work in specialist clinics, he has developed strong working relationships with leading orthopaedic and sports medicine consultants, who regularly trust him to assess and manage their patients as part of a collaborative approach to care.

Mark has a particular clinical interest in spinal disorders and complex back pain presentations. He is a highly skilled hands-on practitioner with strong extensive training in manual therapy and significant experience treating spinal conditions. He regularly treats patients with disc-related pain, sciatica, facet joint pain and degenerative or osteoarthritic changes in the lumbar spine, combining precise manual therapy with targeted rehabilitation to help patients reduce pain and restore movement.

He adopts a patient-centred, rehabilitation-focused approach, underpinned by a solid foundation in strength and conditioning principles. Mark integrates objective data into his clinical reasoning and uses VALD performance technology during strength assessments to guide rehabilitation, particularly in the management of lower limb conditions. This includes both post-operative and non-operative rehabilitation for injuries such as ACL reconstruction, Achilles tendon ruptures, hip injuries, and ankle pathologies, helping patients progress safely from early rehabilitation through to return to sport and full function.

Mark treats a wide range of musculoskeletal pathologies, with a particular focus on spinal and lower limb conditions. His clinical interests include all forms of spinal pain, muscle injuries, tendon pathologies, and post-operative rehabilitation. While rehabilitation progression is central to his approach, he also understands the importance of effective symptom management throughout recovery. He has excellent manual therapy skills and is qualified in dry needling, allowing him to combine hands-on treatment with structured, progressive rehabilitation.

Outside of physiotherapy, Mark has a strong interest in athletic performance. He is a keen gym-goer and runner, trying to get some races in his calendar each year. A passionate rugby fan and outdoor enthusiast, he brings both professional expertise and personal experience in performance and recovery to his clinical practice.
