DAVID LUKA – Clinical Director
Clinical specialist – Diagnostic ultrasound
QUALIFICATIONS: BSc (Hons) Sport & Exercise Science, BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, PG Cert Musculoskeletal Sonography, MCSP MHCPC MAACP
David is one of the clinical directors at Complete Physio. He has over 20 years’ experience working as a physiotherapist specialising in musculoskeletal medicine and complements his clinical skill with diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasonography.
He completed a first degree in Sport and Exercise Science and subsequently qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1999. These two qualifications have complemented each other in his treatment of a wide range of patients from the sedentary to the high-level athlete. He has fulfilled senior roles both in a major London teaching hospital and the private sector working extensively with patients suffering from neuromusculoskeletal conditions including sporting injuries, work-related disorders, problems related to inactivity, and chronic pain. He has worked alongside orthopaedic surgeons, rheumatologists, spinal and neurosurgeons throughout his career and uses this network appropriately to optimise patient care.
Many years of experience in clinical assessment and treatment using physiotherapeutic modalities such as joint and soft tissue mobilisations, manipulation, acupuncture, and sport and exercise rehabilitation combined with diagnostic ultrasound allows more accurate diagnosis and monitoring of injuries.
David is a lifelong sportsman and exerciser, and despite his advancing years continues to participate in competitive team sport and running. This has provided him with very significant, first-hand experience of managing the ageing athlete!
