Pilates is a system of exercise originally developed in the 1920s by Joseph Pilates. It is designed to target the deep muscles of the abdomen and spine in order to achieve a balance of strength and flexibility. Using techniques of breathing and alignment, Pilates strengthens the body from the inside out and improves physical strength, flexibility, posture and muscle tone as well as enhancing mental awareness.

Equipment Pilates uses specifically designed apparatus to train several muscle groups simultaneously in smooth and continuous movements. The equipment can assist in re-training your body to move in safer, more efficient movement patterns and by changing resistance it can challenge your body to build strength and endurance.
