ANDY REAY – Rehabilitation Assistant and Strength & Conditioning Coach

QUALIFICATIONS: BSc (Hons) Sport Science, NSCA
Andy comes from a background of 15 years as a professional rugby player, including stints in the Premiership at Harlequins and Bristol, as well as internationally for the England U21’s. Alongside rugby Andy was a personal trainer, studying for his degree in Sports Science. Following retirement from rugby, with the completion of his degree and an accreditation with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), he became the Head of Strength and Conditioning at Rosslyn Park RFC.
He then accepted a role as a Strength and Conditioning coach at Pure Sports Medicine, where he was promoted to Head of Strength and Conditioning.
Andy’s interests are in strength training for health, longevity, and performance. He also specialises in rehabilitating people back from injury, to achieve their peak performance. Furthermore, he has a special interest in Blood flow restriction training as part of the rehabilitation process.
Through his experience in the fitness industry, Andy now has a deep understanding of what works, and what doesn’t. He specialises in helping clients cut through the (mis)information when it comes to strength training, preparation for race and sports competition, as well as injury prevention and rehabilitation. He allows clients to perform at their absolute peak using precise preparation and planning, and crucially optimising training around their busy schedules.
