George Bownes is a highly experienced & respected Sports Medicine Consultant who has worked across the UK’s High Performance Sport Network as well as extensively within the British Military Rehabilitation system. Notably he has been club doctor for Harlequins, supporting the winning of the Premiership in 2021, worked within Premiership Football, International Rugby, with Team GB winter and summer Olympic athletes as well as being tournament doctor for the players at Wimbledon.

He is highly experienced in ultrasound guided injections of steroid, hyaluronic acid, PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and Arthrosamid, and provides teaching regularly on these treatments to colleagues in the UK and internationally. Dr Bownes is Founder of Citius Retreats and hosts The WellCare Podcast which highlights his experience in multi-disciplinary working with colleagues to improve outcomes post injury so patients can optimise their health to move freely & live fully.
