JOHN ROSS

John Ross

QUALIFICATIONS: Chartered Physiotherapist, BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, PG Certificate in Musculoskeletal Diagnostic Ultrasound.

John is a dedicated and highly skilled Clinical Specialist physiotherapist with a passion for helping individuals recover from all musculoskeletal conditions. John has a special interest in knee, ankle, and shoulder complaints and treats elite national and international level triathletes and runners. His personal experience of marathons and ultra-marathons helps him relate to his patients’ experiences and frustration with injuries.

He has over 10 years’ experience working in private practice where he has worked alongside some of London’s best orthopaedic and sports medicine consultants.

John uses a holistic approach to assess patients, taking time to listen to every patient’s individual story, fully assess their condition, ensure the correct diagnosis and develop personalised treatment plans. John uses many treatment techniques and strategies depending on the individual’s needs. He is a highly skilled manual therapist and combines this ‘hands on’ treatment with rehabilitation and patient education.

John has a postgraduate certificate in diagnostic ultrasound. John uses ultrasound to diagnose ligament, tendon, muscle and joint injuries. With this advanced diagnostic skill and technology at his disposal, John can accurately assess and monitor the progression of injuries, guiding treatment decisions with precision and efficacy

John is also one of our few clinical specialists who uses force plates as an assessment tool. This technology looks at the force distribution, symmetry, and power output of a patient during certain movements. This allows him to pinpoint areas of weakness or dysfunction with precision, allowing for targeted interventions and more effective outcomes in recovery. This technology, normally only used in elite sport, helps John with his rehabilitation of many sports injuries, particularly tendinopathy, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL rehabilitation), and post-operative foot and ankle rehabilitation.

Outside of work, John is a keen runner, he has a 2:51 Marathon and is aiming to do the Boston Marathon next year. He has also completed one-day ultramarathons and a 5-day multi-stage ultramarathon in Jordan’s Wadi Rum desert.
