QUALIFICATIONS: MSc Physiotherapy, PGCert Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, MCSP, HCPC registered

Stuart is an Australian trained physiotherapist, graduating in 2013 from La Trobe University in Melbourne, with a Bachelor of Health Sciences, and a Masters of Physiotherapy Practice.

Since graduating, Stuart has worked in Australia, the UK and the UAE within private practice and both amateur and elite sporting environments. This includes being pitch side with elite CrossFit athletes at the Dubai CrossFit Championships, elite tennis players at Dubai’s ATP 500 tournament, and some of the UAE’s best school aged rugby players during tournaments and in clinic.

These varied experiences have provided Stuart the opportunity to work with a wide spectrum of patients, dealing with a variety of musculoskeletal, spinal, and sporting injuries. This has allowed Stuart to develop his skills in successfully treating patients with busy family lives, desk-based or active jobs, post-operative patients, and athletes from amateur to elite across a number of different sports. His main clinical specialty lies in treating patients with shoulder, knee, and ankle injuries, with particular interest in tendon related injuries, along with gym based and racket sports athletes.

Stuart uses a patient-centred and evidence-based approach, utilising a mix of manual therapy and exercised based rehabilitation. Each patient’s individual needs are first identified through a detailed assessment, often incorporating the use of advanced equipment such as force plates and dynamometry to assess metrics such as range, strength, power, speed, and coordination.

Outside of work Stuart is a keen traveller, often searching for hiking trails in new countries that he is able to visit, and a regular in the gym following a stint in competitive powerlifting in years gone by.
