QUALIFICATIONS: Chartered Physiotherapist, BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, MCSP, HCPC registered, Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice
Tom is a graduate of the Physiotherapy programme at Brunel University London where he now holds the position of Physiotherapy Lecturer.
After graduating Tom worked at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and The Royal Marsden Hospital gaining a wide range of clinical experience working with both adults and children. His passion for rehabilitation is evident whether he is working with an athlete who wants to return to sport/optimise their performance or a child whose life and activities are being restricted by pain or injury.
Since 2018 Tom has worked as both a Researcher and Physiotherapy Lecturer at Brunel University London. Tom’s academic career feeds directly in to his evidence based clinical work. Tom leads the Rehabilitation module, teaching fundamental assessment and exercise prescription skills, as well as one of his main interests which is enhancing exercise motivation. Further to this Tom also teaches Anatomy and topics within Analysis and Rehabilitation of Human Movement and Neurorehabilitation.
Outside of work Tom is a keen endurance cyclist, recently completing events including Chase the Sun (a 200-mile race against the sun from sunrise to sunset) and cycling the 430 miles between (and climbing up) the three highest mountains in the UK.
